Cybersecurity Analyst
Job Description
The Cybersecurity Analyst supports the timely delivery of Barracuda XDR services, contributing to monitoring, incident analysis and response, vulnerability scanning, and customer management within a global SOC environment operating 24x7x365.
Location and Work Schedule
Ann Arbor, MI (remote). This position is part of a global SOC team with evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Compensation
USD 70,000 - 85,000 per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Run daily monitoring of networks to identify active threats, intrusions, and/or compromises.
- Respond to security alarms, analyze findings, and escalate incidents through established processes or management.
- Contribute to incident management and incident response activities.
- Operate and manage vulnerability scanning processes.
- Manage Endpoint Protection and Email Protection services.
- Provide tier one support related to SIEM engineering.
- Deliver first line operational support for requests involving Barracuda XDR security services.
- Support general inquiries and security-related recommendations for customers.
- Track the evolving global threat landscape and publish threat advisories on a regular basis, including understanding direct or indirect impacts to the customer base.
- Participate in proactive security work such as threat hunting, attack and defend exercises, and malware and vulnerability research.
- Advance SOC maturity by participating in agile projects.
- Perform customer management by identifying security issues and supporting mitigation actions.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience troubleshooting in a technical environment.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Customer service skills, including phone and remote support experience.
- Ability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Proficiency with ticketing systems.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
- Experience with basic networking principles.
- Experience with incident response and attack vector analysis, including: Ransomware; Business Email Compromise; Phishing; Botnet; DDoS; SQL Injection; Supply Chain Attacks; Mobile Threats.
- Experience with common SOC tools: SIEM, SOAR, other Log/Packet Analysis applications, EDR, Email Security, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Scanner, and Sandbox Environments.
- Knowledge of cloud computing.
- Programming skills are preferred.
