Hybrid role in New York, NY with a focus on building equity research capability across the cybersecurity and data sector. At KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc., you will collaborate with senior research professionals to develop industry and company analyses that support investment decisions, publications, and capital markets efforts. The position offers a base salary range of $80,000 to $150,000 annually, with eligibility for incentive compensation that may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
What you’ll do
- Collect, evaluate, and apply statistical and financial data related to the economy and financial markets, with a focus on researching common stocks within specific industries.
- Analyze and synthesize research findings into clear trends, business opportunities, and insights that inform investment decision-making.
- Formulate and issue opinions and recommendations on securities and companies across one or more industry groups.
- Prepare research reports, opinions, recommendations, and statistical data, including support for financial statement modeling used in the firm’s investment policies and recommendations.
- Respond to internal inquiries from firm personnel about individual securities or industry groups, and prepare studies and data for firm publication to the general public.
- Create and distribute special studies, models, forecasts, and/or presentations to provide information to the Syndicate or Investment Banking groups regarding security offerings and underwriting.
- Interview company executives or industry leaders to develop and maintain information sources for analyses.
- Maintain company databases using spreadsheets and database software.
- Perform other duties as assigned, as responsibilities may change over time.

Key qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field, or completion of no less than 3 senior level accounting and/or financial analysis courses (required).
- Experience: 2+ years in an analytical or financial role (required).
- Financial modeling: Corporate financial modeling experience (required).
- Must complete the FINRA Series SIE, 7, 63, 86, and 87 licenses.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience building financial models and manipulating equity data.
- Ability to conduct thorough, independent research and comfort with financial research platforms such as Bloomberg and CapIQ.
- Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Strong interest in financial markets and working knowledge of market dynamics and influences.
- Ability to synthesize data and present findings clearly through excellent presentation skills.
