Job Description

The Securities Analyst I - Ops role in Securities Services supports key operational workflows across settlements, mutual fund settlements, outside trade support, and corporate actions. Based onsite in Cincinnati, OH, this position covers trade support and clearance activities under direct supervision.

General Function

This role supports a broad set of responsibilities within Securities Services in one of the following areas: settlements, mutual fund settlements, outside trade support, or corporate actions. The analyst is expected to perform activities that include trade support, clearance/settlement/investigations, and confirmations, with direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Handles securities processing tasks, including independently processing transactions of extremely high dollar amounts.
  • Verifies trade settlement information at the depository and within the proprietary system.
  • May be required to execute new trades or instructions in various markets.
  • Processes cash movements accurately and on time, following prescribed deadlines and department procedures.
  • Maintains accuracy and timeliness in work, evidenced through audits by senior securities analysts and/or the department manager.
  • Researches and resolves questions and inquiries from internal and external parties, and communicates resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Acts as a first line contact for issues received from administrators, custody representatives, and investment staff.
  • Contacts counterparty parties, including internal and external stakeholders, to follow up on outstanding settlement issues, report and research failed activity, and communicate settlement issues with administration, vendors, depositories, and other interested parties in line with established customer service guidelines.
  • Supports teamwork and participates in cross training of team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of operations experience in the securities clearance industry (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of investments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate on behalf of the Bank to internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated professional customer service skills with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent intuitive judgment, systematic approach to problem solving, and effective problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize potential problems and formulate solutions in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, along with aptitude for learning other business-specific software programs.
