Target is looking for a Lead Cybersecurity Training Consultant to shape awareness initiatives for technical audiences, translating security insights into scalable learning experiences that drive behavior change and reduce risk. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on content design, partnering with cyber subject matter experts and engineering teams to elevate secure practices across the organization. Based in Brooklyn Park, MN with a hybrid work arrangement, the position anchors security education at scale.
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN (hybrid) • Salary: USD 95,000 - 171,000 per year • Experience: at least 5 years
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement awareness programs aligned to Target’s top cyber risks, with a focus on technical audiences
- Collaborate with cybersecurity subject matter experts to interpret risk signals (policies, incidents, threat intelligence) and prioritize actions
- Analyze behavior patterns and risk drivers to define targeted interventions that influence outcomes
- Design and deliver targeted communications, campaigns, and learning experiences that turn risk into clear, actionable guidance
- Incorporate user feedback and audience insights to continuously refine content for relevance, usability, and impact among technical users
- Own program effectiveness by leveraging data and risk-based metrics to measure impact and improve results
- Support and evolve program operations, including reporting, platforms, and resources
- Influence across teams to drive alignment and execution, especially with technical stakeholders
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of experience in cybersecurity awareness, communications, learning and development, or related fields
- Strong program and project management skills with end-to-end initiative leadership
- Experience leading communications, campaigns, or programs that drive behavior change at scale
- Experience working with technical or engineering audiences, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance and measurable impact
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity risks and modern technology practices, including vulnerabilities, secure development, and engineering workflows
- Ability to stay current and engage effectively with technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity, set direction, and prioritize effectively
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence across teams and leadership, including technical stakeholders
