Overview

Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Network/InfoSec) in the Cyber Excepted Service. A senior leadership role within the CES structure at DISA, responsible for commanding and coordinating cyber defense operations and network security in support of warfighters worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Supervisory Battle Captain, directing Command and Control of Defense Information Systems Network Transport, Defensive Cyber Operations, and other mission-critical areas.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, planning, prioritization, development, management, training, and coordination to watch floor personnel.
  • Monitor the health of the Defense Information Systems Network and drive timely, accurate updates to leadership, customers, and the DISA Joint Operations Center.
  • As Shift Supervisor, oversee a team of IT professionals by executing supervisory and administrative duties to achieve the DISA Global Field Command mission.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen status is required.
  • Males born after 12-31-1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • National security position requiring access to classified information; favorable suitability review and security clearance (TS/SCI) required; loss of eligibility may result in termination.
  • Under the DoD 8140 policy series, complete Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualifications within 12 months.
  • Drug Testing Position; shift work is required.
  • Salary range includes a Target Local Market Supplement (TLMS) as per applicable laws and DoD guidance.
  • Position located at Hill AFB, UT; on-site work only.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving skills demonstrated in IT contexts.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13 level, applicants must have at least one year of experience supervising a professional IT workforce, delivering IT customer service, briefing senior leadership on cyberspace and defensive events, and executing command and control over global network operations and incident management.

Education: There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-13 level.

  • This appointment is made under the Cyber Excepted Service and does not confer competitive-service eligibility.
  • A probationary period may apply, including a three-year trial in some cases and a one-year supervisory probation for assignment to a supervisory role.
  • Telework may be available based on mission requirements and supervisory determination.
  • Travel away from the duty station may be required.
