Job Description
US Joint Activities offers a location-focused, security-cleared path in the DoD Cyber Excepted Service for the Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) role at Fort Meade, MD. This onsite position provides a competitive salary range of USD 176,938 to 197,200 per year, includes locality pay, and supports advancement into supervisory responsibilities within a critical national security program. The role requires eligibility for a TOP SECRET/SCI clearance and includes opportunities for professional development in line with DoD guidance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Division Chief's focal point for guidance on options to overcome technical obstacles.
- Review operational requirements and advise on the validity and priority of technical needs.
- Identify new and existing products, technologies, or services with potential to address operational challenges or requirements.
- Draft, review, conduct, and endorse performance appraisals and evaluations for subordinates where applicable.
- Initiate and complete personnel actions, address grievances and employee complaints, and recommend or execute disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Identify and arrange for employee professional development and training opportunities.
- Provide support and guidance to subordinate headquarters staffs to refine the technical aspects of operational planning efforts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
- Occasional travel away from the normal duty station by military or commercial aircraft up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and to complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
- Drug Testing Designated Position; subject to the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program; must sign DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program).
- Must pass urinalysis testing prior to appointment, reassignment, or transfer and periodically thereafter.
- Must meet NSA personnel security requirements as outlined in NSA/CSS Policy5-1.
- May be recalled to duty and may work nonstandard hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, with potential overtime.
- One year supervisory probation is required unless previously completed.
- Required to submit a Financial Disclosure statement (OGE-450) upon entering the position and annually.
- Three year trial or probationary period may be required.
