Sr Cybersecurity Engineer (AI Security)

Moody’s is seeking a Sr Cybersecurity Engineer (AI Security) to help safeguard Moody’s AI and model ecosystem. The role focuses on security architecture, risk assessment, testing, and resilient deployment and operations, along with support for AI governance and monitoring.

USD 116,500 - 192,300 per year

Responsibilities

• Secure AI and model ecosystems by defining architecture, implementing controls, assessing risk, and supporting resilient deployment and operations.
• Develop and maintain Moody’s AI and model security architecture, standards, and technical roadmap.
• Identify and implement security controls across the artificial intelligence and machine learning lifecycle.
• Assess AI, machine learning, and large language model solutions for prompt injection, data leakage, model manipulation, adversarial inputs, insecure integrations, and unauthorized access.
• Provide hands-on support for security testing, architecture reviews, threat modelling, control implementation, and incident investigation.
• Establish secure configuration requirements for cloud-hosted AI services, machine learning platforms, pipelines, application programming interfaces, and containers.
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate security controls into development, development security operations, and deployment processes.
• Develop monitoring approaches for model behaviour, misuse, data exposure, configuration drift, and emerging threats.
• Contribute to AI governance, risk assessments, exception management, incident response, and compliance activities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a technical, engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, or related role.
• Demonstrated ability to design, secure, or operate cloud-based solutions, including experience with at least one major cloud platform and its configuration-management capabilities.
• Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning concepts, model lifecycles, application programming interfaces, and large language model technologies.
• Experience conducting security architecture reviews, threat modelling, technical risk assessments, or security testing.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives and technical AI risks into implementable requirements, controls, and practical recommendations for varied stakeholders.
• Hands-on capability with relevant scripting, automation, cloud, security, or machine-learning tools, supported by strong analytical, written, verbal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, including a track record of implementing advanced AI solutions and using AI tools to support innovation initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing AI-related risks, ensuring ethical governance, and fostering responsible AI adoption across the organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline (or combination of education and relevant experience).

Skills and Competencies

• 4+ years in a technical, engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, or related role.
• Cloud solution security experience with at least one major cloud platform and configuration-management capabilities.
• AI and machine learning lifecycle knowledge, including large language model technologies and application programming interfaces.
• Security architecture review, threat modelling, technical risk assessment, and security testing experience.
• Ability to convert strategic AI risks into practical requirements, controls, and stakeholder-ready recommendations.
• Hands-on scripting, automation, and tooling capability spanning cloud, security, and machine-learning.
• AI expertise with leadership experience in risk management and ethical governance for responsible AI adoption.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline (or combination of education and relevant experience).
