Overview

As an FBI Special Agent with a focus on cybersecurity and IT expertise, you will use information security practices and SIEM tools to investigate cyber threats and safeguard critical systems. This career path blends specialized technical work with federal law enforcement responsibilities, enabling you to apply networking, certifications, and ethical hacking skills to defend the nation against cyberattacks, fraud, and evolving threats.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct investigations into potential federal violations, cybersecurity incidents, and public safety concerns.
  • Exercise sound judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
  • Establish and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement partners.
  • Maintain the physical fitness required to perform law enforcement duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must meet the FBI Employment Eligibility requirements.
  • Must have a master's degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.
