Job Description

Motion Industries (MOT) is hiring a Senior Workday Security Analyst in Birmingham, AL with onsite expectations. In this role, you will help strengthen access controls and governance across the Workday platform, partnering closely with HR, Internal Audit, Compliance, and IT to support secure employee lifecycle processes and audit readiness.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Configure, maintain, and support Workday security domains, business process security policies, and security groups.
  • Design and implement role-based access controls aligned with business requirements and security standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Workday security issues, including access requests.
  • Support the rollout of new Workday functionality and related security requirements.
  • Ensure security configurations align with organizational security policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Review and monitor segregation of duties (SoD) risks and recommend mitigating controls.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing security documentation, reports, and evidence.
  • Conduct periodic access reviews and certification processes.
  • Manage user provisioning, role assignments, security changes, and deprovisioning activities through established governance.
  • Evaluate and approve security requests per governance procedures.
  • Maintain documentation for roles, security groups, and access controls.
  • Develop and maintain Workday security reports and dashboards, and analyze configurations to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform impact assessments for security changes and system enhancements, and support testing and validation of security-related updates.
  • Support Workday implementations, upgrades, and releases, including assessing security implications of new business processes and integrations.
  • Collaborate with Workday functional, integration, and technical teams to ensure secure system design, and support compliance reporting and audit requests.
  • Recommend improvements to security governance processes, stay current with Workday security best practices, and support automation related to access management and compliance monitoring.
  • Develop training and documentation for administrators and business users.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of Workday security administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Security Groups.
  • Hands-on experience with Domain Security Policies and Business Process Security Policies.
  • Hands-on experience with Role-Based Security and User-Based Security.
  • Hands-on experience with Constrained and Unconstrained Security Groups.
  • Experience supporting Workday HCM and at least one additional module such as Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence, Financials, or Adaptive Planning.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) principles.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, plus excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Workday Pro Security certification or equivalent Workday security training.
  • Experience with Workday Financials security.
  • Experience with SOX compliance, audit controls, and segregation of duties analysis.
  • Knowledge of SAML, Single Sign-On (SSO), MFA, and identity management platforms.
  • Experience working with Workday integrations and understanding security implications of integrations.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other IT service management platforms.
