Senior Security Engineer

Join Oracle in Reston, VA as a Senior Security Engineer. You will design and develop security monitoring tools, lead incident response, drive compliance and business continuity efforts, strengthen data security, and pursue continuous improvement across the organization. Responsibilities

• Plan and execute in-depth security assessments across a range of products and services to identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Develop testing tools to help engineering teams uncover security weaknesses.
• Provide security design guidance and concrete recommendations for improvement.
• Participate in reviews of security alerts as part of ongoing monitoring.
• Identify complex security violations and escalate them to senior team members.
• Follow established protocols to contain and mitigate security events.
• Contribute to post event reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support compliance assessments to identify gaps and ensure alignment with internal and external obligations.
• Review security compliance deliverables to ensure adherence to policies and industry standards.
• Implement measures to maintain internal and external compliance, collaborating with stakeholders.
• Maintain inventory systems from a security perspective.
• Contribute to the development and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Assist in readiness assessments for certifications and audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Provide sound security judgment and advocate best practices for data security using encryption, hashing, masking, and access management to protect confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
• Review documentation and procedures to identify opportunities to strengthen data security practices.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of industry security practices and pursue ongoing learning through self-study and training.
• Stay informed about emerging trends to stay ahead of evolving threats and vulnerabilities.
