Senior Information Security Analyst

Telligen is seeking a Senior Information Security Analyst to advise government partners as a security subject matter expert. In this 100% onsite role in Iowa, you will help shape governance and compliance activities while supporting day-to-day security operations, vulnerability management, and ongoing improvements across security programs.

Role Overview

As a Senior Information Security Analyst, you will evaluate organizational compliance against contractual regulatory and state security requirements, support gap remediation, and help deliver security standards and procedures. You will also contribute to risk assessments, incident and breach response activities, and annual security authorization efforts, while collaborating across business units to ensure security controls are implemented effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assess compliance with contractual regulatory and state security requirements, and support gap and risk remediation.
• Develop and implement security standards and procedures to safeguard resources and support alignment with HIPAA, NIST, FedRAMP, and/or HITRUST requirements.
• Evaluate security risks while balancing business drivers, best practices, and external drivers; provide proactive recommendations through cross-team collaboration.
• Participate in the development, review, and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs), as well as security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Support annual assessments and security authorization activities.
• Prepare management reporting covering the status of security incidents, audit findings, and risk assessments.
• Support vulnerability management, including validating the creation, documentation, and completion of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons learned activities.
• Coordinate breach notification activities and security reporting in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Own and deliver security-related project tasks with internal customer teams, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
• Represent security on initiatives across Telligen, working with internal customers to implement security controls and best practices.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging threats, security technologies, and relevant regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the security team.
• Respond in a timely manner with professional communication, and approach vulnerability and risk management as business enablement.

Requirements

• 2-year degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field and/or equivalent training and/or experience.
• 5-7 years of work experience in IT.
• 3+ years of experience in an information security role with demonstrated working knowledge of information security, federal and state rules and regulations, company/business unit operations, and compliance policies, procedures, and/or programs in the assigned area.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Assurance, or related field.
• Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CISA, GSNA, CCSP, Security+, or equivalent industry certification.
• Experience with NIST, ISO, and HIPAA requirements/guidance is highly desirable.

Location and Onsite Requirement

• 100% onsite in either West Des Moines, Iowa or the greater Chicago area.
