Job Description

PriMed Management Consulting Services, Inc. is hiring a Security Engineer III focused on network and cloud security in a hybrid environment based in San Ramon, CA (remote is also considered). In this role, you will help shape the architecture and engineering of security capabilities, then drive implementation and ongoing monitoring to protect confidentiality, availability, reliability, and integrity across organizational systems and data.

This position sits within an IT security engineering team and provides Tier-3 support for operational security issues. The work includes collaboration on enterprise security standards, policies, and procedures, along with technical leadership across multiple security domains.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Sr. IT Security Manager to provide recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards for security infrastructure projects.
  • Apply knowledge of IT audit and control, governance, and technical writing and documentation.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain security hardware and software systems.
  • Support the security, integrity, and availability of the organization’s IT infrastructure.
  • Use background experience in networks and datacenter and cloud infrastructure that supports data, voice, and video.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on vulnerability remediation plans and processes.
  • Act as a technical and functional subject matter expert across security domains, helping raise awareness and communicate security risks to internal teams and external partners and vendors.
  • Provide Tier-3 escalation engineering support to daily operational issues.
  • Leverage knowledge of DevSecOps and Azure and cloud-based services for security automation, engineering, and design.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability as a team player to resolve problems professionally and systematically.
  • Experience in cloud and disaster recovery planning, high-availability, backup, recovery, and continuity solutions.
  • Healthcare and security technology services experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of security administration and engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of web, mobile, network, cloud, and application security engineering architecture and operations.
  • In a tiered environment, provide support, assistance, and security technical guidance to Systems and Network Engineers.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience).

Compensation: USD 109,000 - 144,500 per yearly.

Location: San Ramon, CA (hybrid; remote considered).
