Job Description

The Security Engineer - AI Trainer role supports the development of cybersecurity-focused AI models by reviewing AI-generated security content and contributing security-oriented feedback that improves model performance. This contract position is fully remote with flexible scheduling and hourly compensation.

Location and Work Setup

Location: Jersey City, NJ (remote)

Work model: Fully remote. Work from anywhere in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Compensation and Job Type

Job type: Contract

Pay: USD 50 to 100 per hour

Additional compensation: Opportunities for higher bonus rates may be available for certain projects.

Payment method: Payment is made via PayPal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess AI-generated cybersecurity content for real-world accuracy and validity, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques.
  • Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
  • Produce clear technical explanations along with security-relevant code.
  • Provide feedback that directly influences the next generation of AI security models.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent fields, including government or military cyber operations.
  • Some coding experience required, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
  • Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) and strong writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, for example OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar.
