Security Analyst

Connective Business Solution is seeking a Security Analyst to bolster its security posture across multiple IT domains. This onsite role in Tallahassee, FL partners with data, systems, network, and web teams to implement security policies, monitor controls, and support security-driven projects across the enterprise. Ideal candidates bring a solid foundation in IT and security, along with a Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of combined experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages security for more than one IT functional area across the enterprise, including data, systems, networks, and/or Web operations.
• Assists in developing and implementing security policies and procedures, such as user log-on and authentication rules, security breach escalation procedures, security auditing procedures, and the use of firewalls and encryption routines.
• Prepares status reports on security matters to support security risk analysis scenarios and defined response procedures.
• Responsible for tracking and monitoring software viruses and related threats.
• Enforces security policies by administering and monitoring security profiles, reviewing security violation reports, investigating possible security exceptions, and updating and maintaining security controls.
• Participates in evaluating products and procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
• Provides direct support to the business and IT staff for security-related issues.
• Educates IT and business teams about security policies and consults on security issues affecting user-built or managed systems.
• Represents the security needs of the organization by delivering expertise and assistance on security considerations for IT projects.
• Maintains extensive knowledge in networking, databases, systems, and/or Web operations to inform security decisions.
• The role spans from junior to senior levels; a more junior focus is on security administration, while a more senior capacity involves developing enterprise security strategies, managing security projects, and addressing complex security issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of four years of combined IT and security work experience with broad exposure to systems analysis, applications development, database design and administration; one to two years of information security experience is typical.
• Knowledge of security issues, techniques, and implications across all existing computer platforms.
• Extensive knowledge in networking, databases, systems, and/or Web operations.

Complexity

Intermediate professional level role. Works independently or on multiple IT security projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader. Handles small to large, complex security issues or projects that require heightened skill across multiple IT functional areas. May coach more junior staff.
