Job Description

Boeing is seeking a Product Security Engineer (Lead) to support the 787 Airplane Programs PSE team in North Charleston, South Carolina. This onsite role focuses on technical guidance and leadership across the 787 program lifecycle, with accountability for successful product security engineering planning and performance.

Role Overview

The Product Security Engineer (Lead) serves as a technical lead within the 787 program, providing direction for product security engineering concerns across the 787 products and their production and factory environments. The position supports integration of security and resiliency considerations across the lifecycle of the 787 Airplane Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical Subject Matter Expert and Lead Engineer for 787 Product Security Engineering concerns, including products and production and factories.
  • Provide technical leadership to assigned and deployed PSE teammates.
  • Establish technical strategies, plans, and proposals for projects.
  • Support determination and characterization of PSE-related work, roles, and responsibilities to meet 787 project requirements.
  • Assist the 787 PSE Leader in development of business and people plans.
  • Conduct technical design reviews, establishing and validating assumptions to support engineering excellence across the program lifecycle.
  • Participate as a technical stakeholder in 787 system, engineering, and program-level change boards.
  • Contribute as a technical stakeholder and participant in 787 Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) and Safety Management Systems.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Deliver dependable, predictable, and consistent PSE integrated across the 787 program lifecycle, including security and resiliency of 787 production and factory.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 9+ years of related work experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, and product security.
  • Experience coordinating and presenting technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comprehensive understanding of airplane systems and networks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cybersecurity, security network architecture, embedded systems security, security testing and evaluation, and network design.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DO-326B, DO-356A, DO-355.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, and product security.
  • Technical leadership with a positive and curious mindset.
  • Possession of one or more security certifications, including but not limited to CISSP, Security+, CEH, CCNA, UNIX/LINUX System Administration, GIAC GPEN/GWAPT/GXPN, OSCE, and OSCP.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required.

Compensation, Location, and Schedule

  • Location: North Charleston, SC (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 162,350 - 219,650 per yearly (Summary Pay Range)
  • Shift: 1st shift
