DataAnnotation is hiring a Product Security Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models by reviewing AI-generated security material and contributing to the development of next-generation AI security capabilities. This is a fully remote contract role based in Pasadena, CA, with flexible scheduling and paid hourly work available after a short assessment.

Role Overview

In this position, you will evaluate AI-produced cybersecurity content for real-world accuracy and help design security-focused technical problems that are used to train AI systems. You will also provide written explanations and security-relevant code, with feedback intended to directly influence future AI security model training outcomes.

Responsibilities

Assess AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with an emphasis on real-world validity.
Design and solve technical security problems that are used in AI training workflows.
Produce clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
Provide feedback that supports the next generation of AI security models.

Requirements

2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work, including government or military cyber operations.
Some coding experience; comfort navigating and patching a codebase is important.
English fluency at native or bilingual level, with strong writing skills.
A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar credentials.
