Job Description

DataAnnotation is seeking a Product Security Engineer - AI Trainer (contract) to support the training of AI models for cybersecurity use cases. In this role, you will review AI-generated security content, build security-oriented training problems, and provide feedback that helps shape next-generation AI security models.

This is a remote opportunity based in Rego Park, NY (remote), with hourly project pay and a flexible approach to scheduling, depending on the assignments you choose.

What you’ll do

  • Evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with an emphasis on real-world accuracy and validity.
  • Design and solve security-focused technical problems that are used to train AI systems.
  • Write clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
  • Provide feedback that directly influences the development of future AI security models.

What you bring

  • 2+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in areas such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work, including government or military cyber operations.
  • Some coding experience, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
  • English fluency (native or bilingual) and strong writing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, for example OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar.

Contract details & pay

  • Job type: contract
  • Location: Rego Park, NY (remote)
  • Compensation: USD 50 to 100 per hour
  • Bonuses: higher bonus rates may be available for certain projects

Remote work and schedule

  • Fully remote: work from anywhere in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
  • Flexible schedule: choose which projects to take on and when to work, using your own computer.
