Job Description
The Office of Cybersecurity IT Project Manager within the State of New Mexico oversees delivery of cybersecurity services to state agencies and other entities. The role leads end-to-end project execution, including planning, timelines, budgeting, compliance, and reporting to support measurable progress and accountable service delivery.
Role Overview
The selected candidate will manage cybersecurity services provided to state agencies and other organizations. Key duties include creating comprehensive project plans, steering projects from initiation through close out, setting milestones, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring compliance and reporting requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive project plans and steer projects from initiation to close out.
- Establish realistic timelines and milestones using achievable and measurable targets to help keep projects on track.
- Allocate resources and manage project budgets.
- Provide stakeholder and management communication to support collaboration and alignment.
- Draft professional service agreements, amendments, and other procurements that are technically sufficient.
- Deliver in-depth analysis and recommendations for cybersecurity projects, including best practices.
- Coordinate with agencies, team members, and executive staff to ensure high-quality reports and metrics are available.
- Monitor vendor compliance and report non-compliance.
Cybersecurity Services Supported
This position will manage cybersecurity services provided to state agencies, K-12 public schools, and higher educational entities. Services may include:
- Vulnerability management
- Attack surface management
- Penetration Testing
Working Conditions
- Office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
- Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, or Information Technology.
- Four (4) years of experience in software development, project management, or systems analysis.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in the PM role.
- Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
- CAPM/PMI- ACP certification may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
- PMP/PgMP certification may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
- Must possess and maintain current ID or Driver's License.
- Pre-employment background investigation is required; employment is conditional pending results.
Compensation and Location
- Location: Santa Fe, NM (onsite)
- Pay: USD 40 - 64 per hour
