Job Description

Thinkbox Technology Group is seeking an IT Project Manager Consultant to lead end-to-end delivery of cross-functional IT initiatives with a strong cybersecurity focus. This hybrid role supports engagements in the Los Angeles area, combining project governance, technical coordination, and client communication across planning, implementation, and closeout.

In this position, you will manage multiple concurrent technology efforts, drive risk and schedule discipline, and partner with security and technical subject matter experts to remediate network and cybersecurity issues while meeting scope and delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cybersecurity-related projects, coordinating with security and technical SMEs to manage risks, dependencies, remediation activities, and implementation requirements while maintaining schedules, budgets, scope, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage scope creep using change orders, phased delivery, or other methods to keep projects aligned to timeline, scope, budget, and strategy expectations.
  • Evaluate key deliverables and the final product for traceability of requirements, quality, and client acceptance, including coordinating formal sign-off involvement as needed.
  • Ensure projects meet internal and client expectations for quality, budget, delivery timelines, and strategy.
  • Identify, track, manage, and mitigate risk on client engagements, escalating issues when necessary to minimize impact to quality, budget, and timeline.
  • Create contingency plans and revise project schedule, scope, or budget when project control is at risk, with timely input from key team members.
  • Partner with the account director to support shared understanding of expectations, deliverables, dependencies, risks, progress, and the development process.
  • Develop customized reporting when needed to secure sign-off on deliverables or documentation.
  • Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, and project metrics to clients and internal teams with sound judgment.
  • Determine project roles, set skill sets based on project specifications, and define resource requirements including staffing, software, hardware, and facilities.
  • Coordinate with external contractors when needed in addition to internal resources.
  • Work continuously to improve customer satisfaction, deepen client relationships, build client knowledge, and manage day-to-day client interaction.
