Job Description
Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network security capabilities to support hospital operations onsite in Newport News, VA.
- Vulnerability scanning: conduct and analyze vulnerability scans for hosts and network
- Threat/impact assessment: perform network security threat/impact assessments
- Host-based security oversight: manage host-based protections across the Health System, including antivirus, HIPS, data loss prevention, and rogue system detection
- Malware handling: respond to malware reports and support implementation of protective and anti-malware measures
- Security process enforcement: enforce computer and network security processes
- Requirement collaboration: coordinate with management, technical staff, and end-users to define requirements for new systems and security infrastructure development
- Uptime ownership: ensure maximum uptime for firewalls, endpoint protection, and VPNs
- Secure infrastructure design: design highly secure infrastructure focused on maximizing uptime and performance
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-4 years working knowledge of technical security solutions (including Firewalls, NIDS, HIDS, SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Email Security, MFA, etc.)
- 3-4 years enforcing security policies, procedures, and plans to safeguard data and systems from cyber attacks
- CompTIA Security+ (CompTIA)
- Network+ (CompTIA)
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) (CompTIA)
- Call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 1 year Azure and/or AWS cloud experience
- 2 years broad technical security knowledge of networking and Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of Internet security best practices
- GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
- Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals
