Job Description

Amentum is supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) through the IRES contract, working onsite at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO or at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. As a Mid Cybersecurity Engineer, you will help strengthen enterprise security through proactive and reactive cybersecurity operations, vulnerability scanning, defensive cyber operations analysis, and incident response support in alignment with DoD requirements.

This role requires a DoW Secret clearance and a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification. The position includes day shift work, limited travel, and support for periodic on-call needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform proactive and reactive cybersecurity duties on customer networks to improve the enterprise-wide security posture.
  • Review and process Cyber Task Orders (CTOs), tracking and reporting tasks and briefing on items including IAVM compliance, device confiscations, research and investigations, website blocks, and related compliance or project work.
  • Execute vulnerability scans and analyze results without affecting network operations using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS/Nessus).
  • Conduct network security threat and impact assessments and produce assessment reports.
  • Use Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) tools to analyze and correlate events, vulnerabilities, and STIGs from network security devices and mission-critical infrastructure (including firewalls, routers, switches, servers, and workstations) to identify indicators of compromise, attack vectors, and known attack patterns.
  • Analyze and interpret log data within tools such as ACAS and HBSS/ESS.
  • Analyze vulnerabilities against known exploits and disseminate guidance to improve the network defensive posture.
  • Support development, establishment, review, and updates to Tier III LCC procedures, processes, manuals, and other documentation.
  • Support host-based security across the enterprise using DoD Host based Security System (HBSS), including antimalware, host-based intrusion protection, data loss prevention, and rogue system detection.
  • Assist with incident response across the enterprise in accordance with DoD regulations and instructions.
  • Generate vulnerability assessment reports for customers and escalate items for further review.
  • Create, update, and manage queries and dashboards for HBSS, ACAS, and related security tools.
  • Support review and updates to CND procedures, processes, manuals, and other documentation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of general (full-time) work experience.
  • 6+ months of directly related cyber or systems engineering experience.
  • 1 year of managerial experience.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (examples include Security+, CISSP).
  • Must have or obtain an active DoW Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000 per year. Travel: up to 10% of the time. Remote/Telework: No. Relocation assistance: None available at this time. Clearance type: DoW Secret. Shift: Day shift.
