Responsibilities

  • Gather data using a range of network monitoring tools and diagnostic techniques, analyzing data from network devices and packet captures to identify and resolve problems
  • Configure and optimize VLANs, VPN, VOIP, and layer 2/3 LAN technologies
  • Participate in studies, audits, and ongoing analysis of IT network traffic conditions
  • Prepare specifications, technical requirements, and documents related to procurement requests
  • Assess benefits, estimate costs, compare data, and recommend system changes or upgrades
  • Ensure the VOIP system has proper redundancy to maintain functionality during limited equipment failure

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment; background investigation and credit check required
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required
  • Selectees must sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or provide a recognized exemption (Condition of Employment)
  • Immunization screening is required; Hepatitis B immunization is required for positions with direct patient contact; other immunizations may be required
  • Pre-placement medical examination is required
  • Must meet DoD 8140,5 Oct 2020 requirements within 6 months of hire
  • Specialized experience: One year of experience using automated network management tools to document outages and conducting site surveys to assist with operating, maintaining, and upgrading VoIP, Unified Communications, voicemails, auto-attendant, or analog/digital voice systems
