Job Description

The IT Specialist (INFOSEC) role is based onsite at Fort Meade, MD and supports cybersecurity operations within the Department of War, Media Activity (WMA) by developing policies, directives, and guidance. This position is filled under Direct Hire Authority (Title 5, U.S.C. 9905).

Responsibilities

  • Develop policies, programs, and plans governing cybersecurity operations in the TSO area, collaborating with WMA internal teams and external partners.
  • Apply technical expertise to investigate cybersecurity issues and propose policies, plans, or courses of action for cybersecurity activities and exercises.
  • Ensure NIST 800-53 eMass Assessment and Authorization security controls for all assigned networks, systems, and applications have digital artifacts demonstrating the implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for cybersecurity engagements with partner systems, define long-range program objectives, and craft strategies to achieve those objectives.
  • Coordinate with the contracting officer's representative and vendors to ensure unclassified systems are fielded on schedule and meet DoW cybersecurity requirements.

  • Attention to detail, customer service orientation, clear oral communication, and strong problem-solving abilities
