Job Description

Join the State of Arkansas in a role focused on protecting computer systems, networks, and organizational data. This onsite position in Little Rock, AR supports cybersecurity efforts by monitoring activity, analyzing risks, and helping maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The role also comes with a compensation range of $66,458 - $108,431 per year, along with benefits including pension, maternity leave, and paid state holidays.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor network traffic, systems, and applications for suspicious activity and potential threats.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and perform penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Investigate, document, and support response efforts for security incidents, breaches, and other anomalies.
  • Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to protect IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configurations of systems and applications.
  • Maintain and update security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Perform regular security audits and risk assessments to support compliance with industry standards.
  • Deliver security awareness training to help employees follow best practices.
  • Research and evaluate emerging security technologies and threats to recommend solutions.
  • Produce detailed reports covering incidents, vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation strategies.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and frameworks such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security principles.
  • Minimum qualifications: N/A. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.
