IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Administrator

Kymera International is seeking an IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Administrator to help administer, secure, monitor, and continuously improve the company’s global IT infrastructure and cybersecurity environments. This onsite role in Durham, NC supports enterprise networks and cloud services, along with servers, endpoints, identity platforms, and security technologies across Kymera’s landscape.

The position combines infrastructure administration with security operations, including vulnerability management, incident response support, access governance, and disaster recovery readiness. The role reports to the Director, IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity.

Core responsibilities

• Administer and maintain global cybersecurity platforms, including EDR, SIEM, MFA, vulnerability management, email security, and managed security services.
• Monitor security alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and support incident detection, response, containment, and remediation activities.
• Administer and manage global cybersecurity applications and environments to ensure a secure infrastructure for Kymera.
• Support and manage global infrastructure covering LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless networks, servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, Microsoft 365, and business-critical applications.
• Maintain infrastructure availability and performance, verify backup integrity, and support disaster recovery preparedness.
• Oversee global Identity and Access Management (IAM) programs and participate in projects improving IAM capabilities.
• Support Zero Trust security initiatives and identity governance improvements.
• Administer and support Microsoft Azure and related cloud technologies, emphasizing cloud security, resource governance, cost optimization, monitoring, and compliance.
• Participate in cloud architecture reviews and help implement security best practices.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation, track risk exposure, and ensure timely deployment of security patches across infrastructure, endpoints, and cloud environments.
• Monitor security dashboards, logs, alerts, and threat intelligence sources.
• Participate in cybersecurity investigations, incident response exercises, root-cause analysis, and post-incident documentation.
• Apply global security and compliance standards defined by the Director, Global Infrastructure & Security.
• Support compliance initiatives, cybersecurity audits, risk assessments, and implementation of controls aligned with company standards and industry frameworks.
• Maintain policies, procedures, asset inventories, system documentation, controls, and disaster recovery documentation, and coordinate alignment with other IT teams.
• Manage cybersecurity and vendor relationships for North American sites, including managing local spends where applicable.
• Provide support for technical activities as required or requested.

Required qualifications

• Degree or equivalent or relevant current IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified System Administrator, ISC2 certifications).
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator or Security Administrator, including knowledge of modern cybersecurity technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, and MDR platforms and services.
• Fluency in English is essential; other languages such as Portuguese, German, or Norwegian are a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Active Directory and networking experience preferred (router, Access Point, basic switch management, and general networking knowledge).
• Expert-level Windows desktop and server knowledge, including server management, backups, updates, reboots, imaging, and restoring from image.
• Strong experience administering Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Defender, and related cloud technologies.
• Datanchor and general encryption tools knowledge.
• Preferred: ITIL Foundation certified.
• Occasional domestic or international travel (Canada and Europe) for remote site support or implementation of projects may be required.
