Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary technical authority and lead for managing customer networking needs across assigned systems and applications, ensuring effective, economical, and advanced IT networking management.
  • Develops, interprets, and applies policy, processes, procedures, and strategies to deliver multi-discipline IT networking services that enable data and system integration and interoperability.
  • Creates project plans, assigns and prioritizes work among network specialists, and oversees project execution and activities.
  • Ensures rigorous application of information security and information assurance policies in the delivery of network services.
  • Reviews technical designs and network specifications to address customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • National security position that may require access to classified information; requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Loss of security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Per DoD 8140 policy, completing Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements within 12 months.
  • This is a drug testing position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to SCI as a condition of employment.
  • Attention to Detail — experience reviewing one’s own IT work or data and reviewing others’ work to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Customer Service — experience maintaining customer relationships, assessing IT needs, and developing IT products/services to meet those needs.
  • Oral Communication — ability to brief mid-level management and IT staff on status, translating technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Problem Solving — skill in identifying alternatives to address complex IT issues using diverse sources.
  • Qualifying Experience for GG-13: at least one year of experience demonstrating the competencies needed for immediate success, including paid or unpaid work, volunteer service, or military experience equivalent to the next lower federal grade level; must be described on the resume.
  • Experience in engineering IT networks to ensure secure, reliable, and interoperable capabilities OR ensuring cybersecurity compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and standards OR providing technical advisement to support programmatic activities.

  • No substitution of education for qualifying experience at the GG-13 level.
