Information Technology Security Engineer

McLaren Health Care is seeking an Information Technology Security Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise security controls that protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer security solutions independently while coordinating with multiple internal departments and external vendors
• Analyze existing security systems and drive ongoing improvements using best practices and applicable standards
• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and upgrade security measures for organizational data, systems, and networks
• Respond to security breaches involving systems and/or networks by performing incident triage, reviewing logs, and executing remediation activities
• Enable security controls to protect enterprise data and infrastructure
• Research vulnerabilities, perform vulnerability scanning, and help alleviate identified threats
• Develop new security processes while cross-training coworkers and assisting employees with security-related questions
• Review and reduce inappropriate or overprovisioned access to support least-privileged access

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in Information Technology: 5+ years, including 3+ years in a security-focused role
• Security Engineering experience across multiple disciplines: 1+ year
• Security Engineering across multiple disciplines: 3+ years
• Alternative experience path listed: 7+ years in Information Technology with 5+ years in a security-focused role
• Ability to travel to other McLaren subsidiaries as needed
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
