Job Description

Abile Group, Inc. is seeking an Information Assurance Security Engineer for a 10-year contract supporting an Intelligence Community customer. The position focuses on user-facing and data center IT services delivered across multiple networks and security domains, with an emphasis on compliance, secure operations, and response to vulnerabilities and incidents.

This role will represent the Information System Security Manager in ensuring security procedures are followed, while also contributing to ongoing operations and sustainment for network security infrastructure. Work is conducted onsite in Springfield, VA in a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the representative of the Information System Security Manager to ensure compliance with information security procedures.
  • Support operation, maintenance, and disposal of information system materials in accordance with security directives, policies, and practices as documented in Systems Security Plans.
  • Create and implement security training that builds user security awareness of responsibilities before system access.
  • Initiate protective and corrective measures when incidents or vulnerabilities are identified.
  • Ensure IA hardware and software aligns with security configuration guides.
  • Implement and enforce IA policies and procedures defined by A&A documentation.
  • Ensure users understand their IA responsibilities.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Perform Operations & Sustainment (O&S) for the NCE network security infrastructure, including firewalls, web gateways, mail gateways, IDS, load balancers, performance monitoring tools, and management systems.
  • Maintain and/or perform advanced configuration of network protection equipment to address emerging cyber threats.
  • Conduct forensic traffic and log analysis to isolate issues or respond to analyst alerts.
  • Respond to escalated troubleshooting requests and support technical resolution.
  • Maintain and administer network infrastructure standards, documentation, and fault tolerance.
  • Present required monitoring, test results, and reporting.
  • Support integration testing as required.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Review Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) and perform technical decomposition categorization, remediation, and lien resolution.
  • Execute the remediation process to implement technical solutions addressing vulnerability findings via the ACAS security scan.

Required Qualifications

  • Clearance: TS/SCI with ability to obtain CI poly.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • Experience: 10 years of related experience in data security administration.
  • Certification: IAM II certification to start in accordance with DOD 8570.1M.

  • Experience assessing architecture and hardware limitations, defining system specifications, and establishing hardware/software compatibility parameters.
  • Capability to perform complex information security tasks across security component design and complex architectures.
  • Ability to supervise other engineers performing information security tasks.
