The FBI’s information security and cyber investigation work helps protect national security from cyberattacks and evolving threats. In this full-time special agent role, you’ll apply your expertise in SIEM tools, encryption, and threat detection to support high-stakes investigations and safeguard critical systems. Work pattern: On the road
Pay: $103,236.00 - $133,200.00 per year (commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay)

What You’ll Do

Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
Apply judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
Use information security experience to support cyber defense, encryption-related work, threat detection, and vulnerability analysis.
Develop and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
Maintain a level of physical fitness to support readiness for law enforcement duties.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
Must be willing to travel as required.
Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
Must have a master’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.

Education

A master’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university is required.
