Job Description

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Data Security Analyst in Austin, TX, with a hybrid work arrangement, to help safeguard a financial services operation through fraud detection and security analysis. The role centers on reviewing alerts, analyzing transaction data, and mitigating fraud risks as part of the organization's security program. The position offers an hourly compensation of USD 40 - 40 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes fraud alerts, transaction activity, and security-related events using fraud detection and monitoring tools.
  • Assists in identifying fraud trends, suspicious activity, and potential indicators of fraudulent behavior through queries, reports, and data analysis.
  • Creates and tracks operational metrics, dashboards, and reports to support fraud monitoring and program performance.
  • Conducts initial review and analysis of fraud alerts and suspicious activity and documents findings in accordance with established procedures.
  • Escalates validated or high-risk fraud events to senior analysts, investigators, or management for further review and response.

Requirements

  • Must have 2 years of full-time cybersecurity, information security, fraud analysis, systems analysis, programming, computer operations, IT business analysis, or other IT-related experience.
  • 1 year of required experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or another related technical field.
  • Experience with risk management frameworks as it pertains to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
  • Experience with various security monitoring tools, network and web assessment tools, and scripting languages.
  • Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP), Security+, or other security-related certifications; Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or other fraud-related certifications.
