Cybersecurity Technical Writer - AI Trainer
Job Description
DataAnnotation is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Technical Writer - AI Trainer to support AI model training through the review and improvement of AI-generated cybersecurity content. This fully remote contract role is focused on evaluating technical material, validating security claims, and feeding back guidance that helps refine the next generation of AI security systems.
The position is open to qualified candidates based in Iowa (remote) and can be performed from your own computer with a flexible schedule. Work is paid hourly, with rates that support long-term, project-based participation.
Responsibilities
- Review AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, to confirm real-world accuracy and validity.
- Design and solve security-focused technical problems that are used to train AI systems.
- Produce clear technical explanations and write security-relevant code where needed.
- Provide targeted feedback that directly influences how the following AI security models are trained.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work, including government or military cyber operations.
- Coding experience required, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
- English fluency (native or bilingual) with strong writing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certifications are a plus, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar.
