Cybersecurity Technical Writer - AI Trainer

DataAnnotation is looking to bring on an experienced Cybersecurity Technical Writer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models focused on cybersecurity. This contract role blends technical evaluation, security problem design, and high-quality writing to help improve the accuracy and real-world usefulness of next-generation AI security systems.

Located in Kentucky (remote), the work is delivered from your own computer with a flexible, project-based schedule. If you have hands-on cybersecurity experience and the ability to write clearly and work comfortably with code, this position aligns technical security skills with AI training feedback loops.

What you will do

• Assess AI-generated cybersecurity content for real-world accuracy and validity, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques.
• Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
• Write clear technical explanations and security-relevant code that can be used in training materials.
• Provide feedback that directly informs and shapes the next generation of AI security models.

What you bring

• 2+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in a role such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work, including government or military cyber operations.
• Some coding experience, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
• Strong English writing skills (native or bilingual level).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar.

Contract pay and schedule

• Hourly rate: $50 to $100 USD per hour.
• Project-based flexibility: choose which projects you take on and when you work.
• Higher bonus rates: available for certain projects.

Remote eligibility and payment

• Fully remote: work from anywhere in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
• Payment method: paid via PayPal.
