Cybersecurity Technical Writer - AI Trainer

This contract role supports DataAnnotation's AI training initiatives in cybersecurity by evaluating AI-generated security content, solving technical security problems, and providing actionable feedback to improve AI models, with a flexible remote schedule. The position is based remotely from Texas.

Responsibilities

• Assess AI-produced cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, for real world accuracy and relevance.
• Design and resolve security-focused technical challenges used to train AI systems.
• Produce clear technical explanations and write security-relevant code as needed.
• Deliver feedback that directly informs the next generation of AI security models.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or related fields, including government or military cyber operations.
• Some coding experience required; comfort navigating and patching a codebase is essential.
• Fluency in English (native or bilingual) with strong writing skills.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Cybersecurity certifications are a plus (eg OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar).

Compensation

• Base pay ranges from USD 50 to 100 per hour.
• Opportunities for higher bonus rates on select projects.
