Job Description

The Manager, Cybersecurity Operations and Engineering role leads cybersecurity engineering efforts and provides subject matter expert support for cybersecurity baselines and configurations across the GIA enterprise. The position also directs engineering projects, helps maintain secure networking and cybersecurity service delivery, and ensures documentation and processes support compliance and execution.

Location and Employment Details

  • Location: Southlake, TX (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 125,000 - 155,000 per year
  • Minimum Experience: 4 years
  • Education: Diploma from a college or vocational school, or an equivalence of education and work experience

Role Purpose

This manager role serves as a technical leader and SME for cybersecurity baselines and configurations across the GIA enterprise. The position leads assigned projects and provides technical support and administration for enterprise-class network, cybersecurity baseline, and telecommunication services, while ensuring documentation and processes are in place to support delivery of networking services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop recommendations for infrastructure management to evaluate near- and long-term cyber security capacity needs and justify resource requirements (people and/or technology).
  • Lead technical planning, verification, evaluation, and analysis of critical program information, including cost and risk.
  • Provide direct leadership and mentorship to the Cyber Security Team, delivering on tactical milestones for portfolio mergers and acquisitions success and technical migrations across the enterprise.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of current and future security domains, including areas that may introduce new service lines such as Cloud Computing, DevSecOps, threat intel and hunting, and EDR.
  • Support capture efforts and future capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Engage with customers and auditors to address technical concerns and resolve issues.
  • Develop and coordinate test strategies, plans, procedures, and reports across programs to ensure thorough validation and delivery success.
  • Monitor ITSM tickets and ensure timely responses and resolutions within SLAs.
  • Partner with Networking and IT Infrastructure teams to manage risk and maintain secure configurations.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly audits of cybersecurity baselines as required.
  • Develop and maintain hardening standards for all enterprise operating systems.
  • Work with management and the team to gather input, diagnose root causes, and resolve problems.
  • Document processes to standardize end-user experience, and proactively communicate with management during problem resolution.
  • Interface with leadership, engineers, and vendor technical support resources.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan, including testing and updating documentation.
  • Recommend and justify upgrades to infrastructure and systems.
  • Build, implement, and document new locations using industry best practices and established compliance policies.
  • Participate in ongoing certification and training opportunities.
  • Conduct training for junior team members and subordinates.
  • Lead and participate in cross-team collaboration to implement projects across the organization.
  • Support continuous improvement by exploring new technologies to enhance control compliance and security capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma from a college or vocational school; or equivalence of education and work experience (STEM degree preferred).
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Experience supporting networking, security, virtualization, systems administration, and storage software and hardware products.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting in an IT environment (server, application, or infrastructure).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience implementing industry standard EDR/MSSP platforms (examples: CrowdStrike/Falcon Complete, Sentinel One, Trellix, Cloudflare, Mimecast).
  • Proven ability to diagnose, resolve, and document technical support issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Positive, customer-centric approach.
  • Working experience in systems administration, cyber security, and/or internal IT support.
  • Ability to travel to office locations (10%).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance, with own transportation.
  • Self-managed approach with minimal supervision.
  • Persistence in staying on task to solve technical problems.
  • Flexibility and initiative.
  • Accountability for personal schedule and reporting on activities.
  • Conceptual thinking.
  • Four (4) + years providing hardware and software technical support; supervisory experience required.
  • Experience with security, virtualization, and storage software and hardware products.
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server products, Unix, and Linux operating systems.

  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
