Job Description
Support Information System Security Engineering by coordinating technical controls, configuration settings, and vulnerability scanning in an onsite role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and reviewing System Security System Security Plans (SSP), Personnel Security, Disaster Recovery, Incident Responses, and Authentication Management policies and plans
- Contribute to detailed, thorough site survey report documentation
- Help configure Windows Operating Systems, applications, and Cisco IOS devices to align with DISA, STIG, and other applicable guidelines
- Apply operating system patches, service packs, hotfixes, and software/firmware updates
- Support automated system software update methodologies and related technologies
- Perform system vulnerability scans using Nessus / ACAS and SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC)
- Assist with security documentation development and overall security engineering support
Requirements
- Educational background in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity
- Acceptable experience/education combinations:
- High School Degree or GED with 6+ years of experience
- Associate's Degree with 4+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree with 0+ years of experience
- Professional certifications (one or more): CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP
- Strong collaboration skills with excellent written and oral communication
- Excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general office applications
- Physical requirements include:
- Exposure to computer screens for extended periods
- Sitting for extended periods
- Reaching by extending hands or arms in any direction
- Finger dexterity to manipulate objects using fingers (example: keyboard use)
- Communication and cognition abilities:
