Job Description

Senior cybersecurity specialist responsible for RMF implementation, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation for Department of War information systems, guiding governance, threat awareness, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Apply analytic risk management principles to support mission assurance by preparing for, preventing, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from emergencies.
  • Utilize advanced technical expertise and broad industry knowledge to address complex cybersecurity challenges.
  • Design and implement innovative solutions to multi-faceted security problems.
  • Operate with limited direction while guiding peers and junior staff.
  • Mentor and supervise team members to strengthen capabilities and performance.
  • Support enterprise governance, risk management, compliance, and innovation activities for DoW information systems and networks.
  • Lead the development of cybersecurity strategies, manage the RMF process, ensure regulatory compliance, and assist mission partners with risk mitigation and threat awareness.
  • Collaborate across governance, RMF operations, compliance monitoring, and cyber threat innovation initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations or cybersecurity
  • Experience in a cybersecurity compliance, operations, or engineering leadership role
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance, audits, or inspections
  • Ability to partner with senior leaders (CISO, CIO, CTO, and executives) to shape and mature cybersecurity capabilities
  • Experience collaborating with project and proposal teams to integrate cybersecurity solutions and develop robust implementation plans and roadmaps
  • Ability to author technical documentation, whitepapers, and blogs on cybersecurity topics
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Information security certifications such as CEH, CISM, CCSP, CCSK, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+

NICE IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience addressing defense or national security issues in the Indo-Pacific region
  • Background working at a DoW Command-level Headquarters
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53 and DoD 8500 or 8510
  • Experience selecting, designing, and implementing security tools for large, complex federal or commercial organizations
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of eMASS and Mission Partner Engagement (MPE)
  • Knowledge of innovative cybersecurity capabilities, including AI/ML, Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), and Big Data
  • Ability to support development of cybersecurity policies or governance frameworks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree

CLEARANCE

  • TS/SCI clearance is required; applicants may undergo a security investigation to determine eligibility for access to classified information.

WORK MODEL

  • Remote: The role may require occasional in-person work at Booz Allen or a client facility.
  • Hybrid: Regular in-office work at a Booz Allen facility with potential visits to client sites as needed.
  • Onsite: Primary work at a Booz Allen office or client facility, with collaboration alongside colleagues and customers.
