Job Description

Huntington Bank’s Cyber Security team is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to deliver hands-on technical and engineering support across the organization’s cyber security operating platforms, applications, and services. In this onsite role in Columbus, OH, you will help implement technology solutions and configurations aligned with enterprise cyber security strategy and objectives.

You will support daily security operations work, monitor and respond through the Cyber Security Operations Center, and help improve detection and mitigation capabilities across a range of security tools.

What you will do

  • Participate in day-to-day security operations monitoring and response from the Cyber Security Operations Center.
  • Evaluate, respond to, and mitigate alerts originating from the SIEM and the cyber security product suite, including NGFWs, IDS/IPS, Anti-virus, EPP/EDR, Web Application Firewalls, and related tooling.
  • Implement or recommend mitigations, including the creation and development of new alerts and rules within various cyber security tools.
  • Analyze and identify malicious activity across different stages of an attack.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of production support and design of cyber security technologies, or relevant technical production support experience.
  • 5+ years of operational experience with security technologies or related technical tooling.
  • 5+ years implementing or utilizing technology lifecycles and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or 4+ additional years of equivalent experience in cybersecurity production support.
  • Expert level network troubleshooting skills using packet capture and analysis packages such as Wireshark and TCPdump.
  • Intermediate knowledge of core networking protocols including BGP, DNS, and HTTP/S.
  • Intermediate knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix.
