Cybersecurity Engineer
Job Description
Flow Control Group is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer in Charlotte, NC (onsite). If you want to build and protect what matters, this role focuses on designing, implementing, administering, and continuously improving security technologies and processes. What you’ll do
You’ll manage and optimize a modern security stack to protect users, systems, applications, and data. This includes overseeing platforms such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Proofpoint, ThreatLocker, and Zscaler, along with MDR services. You’ll also support the day-to-day lifecycle of detection and response.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to security events and incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
- Support Microsoft 365 and Azure security initiatives
- Administer identity and access controls, including MFA, SSO, and Conditional Access
- Develop security standards, procedures, and documentation
- Collaborate with IT teams to strengthen security posture and compliance

What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of cybersecurity or security engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with several of the listed security technologies
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Familiarity with NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications
- Azure and Microsoft 365 security experience
- PowerShell or Python automation experience
- MDR and threat intelligence experience
- Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, SC-200, SC-300, or AZ-500
