Cybersecurity Engineer

BSG Brockman Strategy Group, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support government cybersecurity and cyber resilience initiatives through Cyber Tabletop Test and Evaluation (T&E). This position is primarily remote, with a potential hybrid cadence that may require onsite presence in Washington, D.C. for approximately one day per month.

Role Focus

The selected candidate will provide operational cybersecurity expertise across test and evaluation activities, cyber tabletop exercises, and acquisition support. Work will emphasize safeguarding confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.

Responsibilities

• Deliver operational cybersecurity T&E expertise, including requirements review, test planning, test execution, data management, and reporting, with a focus on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Assist cyber tabletop exercises and assessments by providing technical analysis, advisory support, and technical oversight to the government T&E Division Lead.
• Apply technical support across cyber systems, industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT) security, cyber tabletop exercises, CVPA testing, and adversarial assessments.
• Evaluate acquisition and test documentation by reviewing Mission Needs Statements, Operational Requirements Documents, Concepts of Operations, and Test and Evaluation Master Plans, and provide recommendations for cybersecurity requirements, threat modeling, cyber resilience, security testing strategies, and applicable security controls, including NIST SP 800-53.
• Contribute to program execution and cyber risk management by participating in government T&E WIPTs to establish and monitor milestones, key events, and significant accomplishment criteria.
• Coordinate information across organizations and support identification and mitigation of cyber risks throughout the system lifecycle.
• Develop and contribute technical guidance by supporting cyber resilience guidebooks, Letters of Assessment, and other T&E documentation.
• Provide instruction by teaching cyber resilience T&E topics in Department of Homeland Security workshops and classes.

Compensation

• Annual salary range: USD 75,000 to 91,000
• Pay: USD 75,000.00 to 91,000.00 per year
