Cybersecurity Engineer

Georgia Tech seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer to design and implement secure network architectures and security controls that defend the university's digital assets. The role involves analyzing security requirements, developing policies and procedures, and collaborating with IT teams to deploy security technologies and monitoring capabilities. The position offers a compensation of USD 120,278 per year and requires a Bachelor's Degree with at least eight years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy secure network designs and solutions to shield the institution's digital assets from internal and external threats.
• Assess security needs and establish policies, standards, and procedures to guide the implementation of cybersecurity measures.
• Execute security assessments and penetration tests to evaluate current controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor security alerts and events to detect potential threats and ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Maintain awareness of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to strengthen the security posture.
• Create and deliver training for technical staff on secure coding practices and the integration of security controls into system designs.
• Document security processes, configurations, and incident response procedures to support compliance and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to incident response activities, including breach investigations, impact analysis, and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with Information Technology teams to deploy and configure security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption solutions.
• Carry out additional job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience.
