Job Description

The Basler Electric Company seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer to shape policy development, respond to security questionnaires, lead malware investigations, manage patch programs, and provide end-user support. The role also entails monitoring MDR operations, administering Active Directory and Windows Server environments, and collaborating with IT teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

Location

Highland, Illinois, onsite. In person work arrangement.

Compensation

Annual salary range of USD 96,000 to USD 113,000.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or a related discipline.
  • Professional security certifications such as CISSP and Security+ are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing cybersecurity policies.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and other applicable security guidelines and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of malware analysis and incident response procedures.
  • Proficiency in patch management and experience with patching software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server environments, and SCCM.
  • Ability to provide Tier 1 end-user support.
  • Proficient troubleshooting of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required for training, project tasks, or job-related needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of IT and the Systems Administrator to develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Respond to cybersecurity questionnaires from clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Investigate and respond to malware events, including detection, analysis, and remediation.
  • Oversee patch management software to ensure systems and applications remain protected with the latest security updates.
  • Maintain the operating system patch schedule and coordinate third-party software updates, including testing and deployment.
  • Monitor and manage MDR operations and investigate antivirus and malware events.
  • Manage a range of security software applications across the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to address vulnerabilities and strengthen overall security posture.
  • Ensure servers align with system hardening best practices and other information security standards.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to verify compliance with established policies and standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continuously improve defenses.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on cybersecurity best practices and policies.
  • Deliver Tier 1 support to end users as needed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products efficiently to complete tasks.
  • Assist other department team members with their duties as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
