Cybersecurity Administrator

What we offer

This onsite role at Singing River Health System in Ocean Springs, MS, supports protecting patient data across Singing River Health System's Gulfport, Ocean Springs, and Pascagoula hospitals. You will manage and operate cybersecurity technologies such as antivirus software/EDR, intrusion detection systems, DLP, and SOC/SIEM, while conducting risk assessments, incident response, policy enforcement, and staff training to maintain HIPAA compliance.

The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and is based onsite across Singing River Gulfport Hospital, Singing River Ocean Springs Hospital, and Singing River Pascagoula Hospital. It offers the chance to contribute to the protection of sensitive medical and personal data and to work with a range of security technologies in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and safeguards the organization's digital infrastructure from various cyber threats.
• Manages the operation of cybersecurity systems, including antivirus software/EDR, intrusion detection systems, DLP, SOC/SIEM, and related security technologies.
• Ensures the protection of sensitive medical and personal data in alignment with HIPAA and healthcare regulations to support confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Conducts regular risk assessments.
• Manages responses to cybersecurity incidents.
• Enforces security policies.
• Provides staff training on cybersecurity best practices.

Requirements

• A minimum of one year IT cybersecurity experience is required.
• Healthcare IT experience is preferred; programming or scripting experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, VPN, LAN/WAN topologies, and wireless technologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001; familiarity with related technologies and best practices is a plus.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field required; applicable work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
