Cyber Security Engineer
Job Description
SHINE Systems is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer to support enterprise security planning and engineering in Reston, VA. The position focuses on turning security requirements into secure information technology through security architecture, design, development, and configuration, while guiding system security concepts and overseeing contractor engineering support.
Location and Employment Details
- Location: Reston, VA (onsite)
- Salary: USD 135,000 per year
- Minimum Experience: 18 years
Role Summary
The Cyber Security Engineer will capture and refine security requirements and integrate them into information technology through security architecting, design, development, and configuration. The role includes leading system security concepts and roadmaps, conducting analysis of alternative security solutions, and overseeing contractor cyber security engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with leading development teams that design and develop information systems or upgrade legacy systems.
- Support product research and conduct Analysis of Alternative (AoA) activities to independently identify appropriate security solutions.
- Assist in developing system concepts and contribute to the capability phase of the systems development lifecycle by translating technology and environmental conditions, including law and regulation, into system security designs and processes.
- Assist with developing and documenting Security Architectures, Roadmaps, and associated investments.
- Oversee the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level contractor Cyber Security Engineers.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STE.
- Alternative: 18+ years of work experience as a Cyber Security Engineer.
- Experience: 18+ years of working experience in government or industry within Cyber Security.
Certifications and Clearance Requirements
- DoD 8570 Level II (IASAE) certification compliance.
- Clearance: TS/SCI clearance adjudication, or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.
Desired Skills and Background
- Expert working experience in government or industry leading enterprise-level cyber security efforts involving architecting, designing, development, and configuration of cloud and on-premise based systems and software.
- Experience engineering cyber security solutions using cloud-based technologies.
- Experience engineering cyber security solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data.
- Experience engineering cyber security solutions using Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
