Job Description

The Application Security Engineer - AI Trainer role supports the development of cybersecurity-focused AI models by reviewing AI-generated security material and contributing to technical training signals. This contract position is fully remote and offers a flexible workflow across select regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with a focus on real-world accuracy and validity.
  • Develop and solve security-oriented technical problems that are used to train AI systems.
  • Create and communicate clear technical explanations, including security-relevant code examples.
  • Provide feedback that directly informs the next generation of AI security model reasoning.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or related work, including government or military cyber operations.
  • Some coding experience is required, with comfort navigating and patching an existing codebase.
  • English fluency at native or bilingual level, along with strong technical writing skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, for example OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar credentials.

Contract Details and Compensation

This is a contract role with hourly project pay. Compensation is listed as $50 to $100 USD per hour, with higher bonus rates available for certain projects.

Remote Work and Schedule

  • Fully remote work from anywhere in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Flexible schedule with project selection and working hours determined by the contractor.
  • Work is performed on your own computer from home.
