Job Description

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a senior Technology Operational Risk Management Lead to join the Commercial & Investment Bank in Jersey City, onsite. This VP-level role emphasizes evaluating technology and cyber operational risks, driving the execution of the firm’s operational risk management framework, and advancing data-driven and automated risk testing approaches. The position blends deep technical insight with strategic risk oversight to help safeguard critical banking operations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the key processes and controls executed within CIB Technology.
  • Conduct independent assessments of Cybersecurity risks for CIB Technology through CCOR's monitoring program.
  • Manage identified risks using the firm's Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Engage with first line control designers and operators, offering challenge and guidance.
  • Perform testing and monitoring to identify gaps in operational risk controls.
  • Develop and/or challenge KPI and KRI metrics related to these risks through effective monitoring activities.
  • Participate in firm-wide global initiatives to assess impacts on the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal 2LoD teams to address thematic monitoring and testing deficiencies.
  • Oversee a book of work impacting CIB and provide weekly status updates.

Requirements

  • More than seven years of experience with infrastructure and application architecture.
  • At least five years in a senior technology role (engineering, operations, or strategic planning).
  • Five or more years of Cybersecurity risk work experience.
  • Ability to grasp complex technical systems, the business processes they support, and the associated risks and controls.
  • Proven leadership with the capacity to influence decisions at senior levels.
  • Comfort moving between business discussions and technical conversations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a track record of aligning expectations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present concise findings to a senior audience.
  • Deadline-driven, delivering results with limited supervision.
