Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) ISSP Team Leader
Job Description
This role oversees information systems security programs and cyber activities at cleared contractor sites nationwide as a Supervisory Information Systems Security Professional (ISSP).
Responsibilities
- Act as a member of the Industrial Security Central Region Cybersecurity (FOC3) management team, reporting to the Regional Mission Director/Authorizing Official (RMD/AO).
- Assist the RMD/AO in directing the region's information assurance efforts, including certification and accreditation activities and reviews.
- Supervise, mentor and guide Information System Security Professionals across a geographically dispersed area in applying the Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework to National Industrial Security Program stakeholders.
- Lead Information System Security Control Assessment activities at the Regional Field Office, coordinate with Cleared Defense Contractors and government stakeholders, and deliver IT risk recommendations to the RMD/AO.
- Analyze and verify defense contractor security plans for computer systems, networks, information systems, and emerging technologies to safeguard classified information.
- Provide IT security and risk management oversight through collaborative engagements with military, federal agencies, and industry partners across CONUS.
- Advise regional leadership on information systems cybersecurity issues, program requirements and personnel resources to support regional goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the Field Office Business Planning process by prioritizing resources and setting short and long term goals aligned with the agency strategic plan.
Requirements
- Must be a United States citizen.

- DCIPS position in the Excepted Service under U.S.C. 1601.
- Work Schedule: Full Time; Overtime: Occasionally; Tour of Duty: Flexible.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) not authorized.
- Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Exempt; Financial Disclosure required.
- Telework eligibility: Supervisors may approve situational telework on a case by case basis for limited situations.
- Must be certified within six months of appointment in Information Assurance per DoD 8140.01-M requirements for IAM Level III and IAT Level II.
- Legal and personal qualifications to operate a motor vehicle.
- Specialized experience includes applying a broad range of cybersecurity and information technology concepts to complex work, performing technical cybersecurity assessments, employing risk management principles, and evaluating information assurance regulations to identify deficiencies.
- Generally, one year or more of specialized experience.
- Specialized competencies include: Conflict Management, Customer Service, Flexibility, Influencing/Negotiating, Information Assurance, Information Management, Interpersonal Skills, Leadership, Oral Communication, Problem Solving, and Risk Management.

Education
- Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
Additional Information
- Veterans preference: DoD guidance states veterans preference is not required for prior federal service that has not been separated for cause; re-employed annuitants may apply.
- This position requires an initial drug screening with random testing thereafter; a negative result must be received by HR within 30 days after the start date.
