Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Helm Point Solutions is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support intelligence-focused operations through security assessments, security requirements and architecture work, and the implementation of IA and cybersecurity solutions. This onsite role is based in Linthicum Heights, MD and includes work aligned to NSA/CSS NISCAP as well as DoD RMF and NIST RMF processes.

In this position, you will help identify and mitigate risk across the program lifecycle, support incident and intrusion detection-related engineering, and contribute to certification and accreditation efforts. The role requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and maintain IA compliance.
• Define, verify, and validate system security requirements, and contribute to security architecture design.
• Implement and integrate IA and cybersecurity solutions within complex technical environments.
• Partner with architects and developers to apply security policies and enterprise security solutions.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the program lifecycle.
• Apply advanced knowledge in risk management, incident handling, intrusion detection, and security engineering.
• Support certification and accreditation activities using NSA/CSS NISCAP, DoD RMF, and NIST RMF frameworks.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an ISSE supporting contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related field.
• Four additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• DoD 8570 IASAE Level 2 compliant (e.g., CISSP, CSSLP, or equivalent).

Compensation and Clearance

• Salary: USD 220,000 - 265,000 per year
