Staff Security Analyst
Job Description
Turing is hiring a Staff Security Analyst to help protect high-impact AI systems while operating at startup speed. This onsite role in the United States combines hands-on incident response with measurable improvements to detection quality, playbooks, automation, and analyst performance.
At the Staff level, your work goes beyond individual cases. You will raise the analytical bar across the team, strengthen the detections and investigation workflows everyone relies on, mentor other analysts, and improve how quickly the organization catches and responds to threats.
Compensation: $220,000 per year.
What you’ll do
- Lead triage and investigation of complex, high-severity security alerts and incidents across cloud, endpoint, identity, and application telemetry.
- Own and improve detection quality by tuning, writing, and validating detections to increase signal and reduce noise, in partnership with detection engineering.
- Act as a senior responder during security incidents: drive investigations, coordinate response, and produce clear post-incident analysis.
- Run proactive threat hunting and convert findings into new detections and prevention opportunities.
- Develop and maintain investigation and response playbooks, improving analytical rigor and consistency across the team.
- Operationalize threat intelligence to prioritize the threats most relevant to Turing.
- Build automation and tooling to streamline triage and investigation and reduce manual toil.
- Mentor analysts and set standards for investigation quality and documentation.
What you bring
- 8+ years of significant experience in security operations, incident response, threat detection, or a similar analytical security role.
- Deep hands-on experience investigating threats across cloud, endpoint, identity, and network telemetry.
- Strong command of SIEM and detection platforms, including log analysis and query languages.
- Experience writing and tuning detections and leading incident investigations end to end.
- Scripting and automation capability using Python or similar to reduce toil and extend tooling.
- Excellent analytical judgment and clear written communication for incident documentation.
