Based in Joliet, Illinois with remote work options, Hyundai Translead provides a role focused on safeguarding enterprise technology environments. The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer designs, implements, and operates security controls across IT and OT contexts, delivering threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response support, security architecture guidance, and risk assessment activities in alignment with governance and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cybersecurity controls that safeguard systems, networks, and data in line with governance and operational security standards
  • Lead vulnerability management efforts, supporting scans, prioritizing findings, coordinating remediation, and verifying fixes
  • Assist incident response through triage, containment coordination, root cause participation, and post‑incident follow‑up
  • Conduct security monitoring and threat detection by examining alerts, events, and indicators in collaboration with internal teams and external partners as applicable
  • Contribute to security architecture by advising on secure design patterns, control choices, and implementation approaches for systems and networks
  • Support IT/OT security objectives by strengthening IT/OT separation, network segmentation, and operational security controls in industrial environments
  • Administer or support network access control governance and enforce access controls per approved standards and policies
  • Perform risk assessments, including control reviews, alignment to security frameworks, and remediation tracking
  • Support compliance efforts through evidence collection, control validation, documentation, and participation in governance processes
  • Apply governance and policy enforcement by implementing standards, procedures, and control requirements across relevant environments
  • Serve as a senior technical resource in security engineering, handling advanced vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response coordination
  • Lead technical analysis during incidents, recommending containment actions, reviewing evidence, and coordinating with stakeholders
  • Conduct security architecture reviews for system and network changes, including IT/OT separation considerations and segmentation guidance
  • Document risk assessments aligned to security frameworks and compliance requirements; track remediation plans and milestones
  • Provide guidance to others on policy enforcement, operational security controls, and monitoring best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • At least five years of relevant experience in security engineering, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response
  • Experience supporting IT/OT separation requirements and network segmentation practices
  • Experience performing risk assessments aligned with security frameworks
  • Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity concepts and exposure to SCADA, PLC, and HMI environments
  • Ability to apply governance and compliance standards via operational controls
  • Travel up to 10%
