Sr. Cybersecurity Architect - Active Top Secret

General Dynamics Information Technology offers an onsite opportunity in Washington, DC for a Senior Cybersecurity Architect. This role focuses on defining and implementing secure enterprise architectures across cloud security, identity, Zero Trust, and monitoring, with substantial independence to guide modernization of the client’s cybersecurity posture. You will provide strategic advisory to executives and ensure alignment with federal directives such as NIST SP 800-53 and RMF. The position carries a salary range of USD 178,500 to 241,500 annually, requires US citizenship with TS with SCI eligibility, and is based onsite in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and governance of integrated cybersecurity architectures across identity, devices, networks, applications, and data within a Zero Trust framework.
• Design secure architectures for hybrid on premises and cloud environments, Microsoft 365, identity services, and container ecosystems.
• Establish enterprise patterns, baselines, and engineering standards to guide delivery.
• Ensure alignment with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and OMB/CISA directives.
• Guide major modernization initiatives by defining scope, objectives, dependencies, schedules, and measurable outcomes.
• Implement security infrastructure upgrades and deliver secure architecture solutions for Virtual Desktop and Server Infrastructures.
• Coordinate engineering, cloud, network, application, and development teams to oversee threat modeling, secure API design, encryption, and secrets management.
• Manage architectural risk, conduct impact analyses, and enforce technical quality gates.
• Lead Zero Trust aligned enterprise architectures across identity, cloud, applications, and data, establishing standards to meet NIST, RMF, and federal requirements.
• Conduct functional testing and validation of security products.
• Design and implement secure file sharing and cross domain solutions.
• Direct or participate in cybersecurity modernization efforts, coordinating cross functional teams, managing risk, and overseeing pilots and vendor integrations to advance enterprise security.
• Advance security of enterprise applications and platforms by embedding secure design practices, integrating automated security testing and software composition analysis, and applying threat analysis, API security, and data protection strategies.
• Advise senior leadership on strategy and enterprise risk; participate in architecture boards and industry working groups; represent the organization to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelors degree in a technical discipline.
• Experience: 10+ years of related experience.
• Technical skills: Linux, Windows, MacOS.
• Programming: Python, Perl, Shell.
• Security tools: SIEM technologies such as IBM QRadar, Splunk, or Elastic.
• Environments: On premises and cloud implementations.
• IDS/IPS solutions.
• Virtualization: VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter, VMware VSAN, VMware View.
• Clearance: TS with SCI Eligibility; US citizenship required.
• Work location and travel: Onsite presence required; telework available with approval; limited CONUS travel (Less than 10%).
